X-men Origins Action Figures - Review
![]()
Smoking cheap cigars and destroying things with his adamantium claws, Wolverine is back in the X-men Origins to do some real damage. Just watched the movie a few days ago and I must say that the movie was very good however, some characters like Gambit was not very well portrayed though.
So with this hit movie, let me introduce to you Wave One of the X-men Origins action figures from Hasbro. The figures in this wave includes Wolverine in different variants, Gambit, Sabretooth and Gambit. They stand at 3.75” tall or 9.7cm tall and comes with tonnes of accessories. Some of the action figures are actually based on the comic series while others are based on the movie. I will highlight the differences along the way.
Lets look at some of the images:
Sabretooth
In the movie, Sabretooth was the brother of Wolverine who ultimately because of his bloodlust caused Wolverine to leave him. Consumed with rage and jealousy, he worked with Stryker in order to get his hands on the adamantium so that he can actually defeat Wolverine. The action figure depicts Sabretooth in his gothic cape and he also comes with a club. Someone ought to teach him to trim his nails.
Wolverine

Wolverine, the protagonist in the movie comes in two variants for this wave. One depicts him without his suit and the other is the one wearing is trademark suit. Both figures are equipped with adamantium claws and for the figure with the suit, a samurai sword is included as well.
Gabe Logan

Another variant of Wolverine, but this time depicted as a lumber jack, Gabe Logan comes equipped with his axe and interchangeable hands. Notice that the claws on his hands are actually his bones. This is because prior to having adamantium bonded to his bones, Wolverine actually has bone claws which is susceptible to being damaged. This figure is the movie version.
Gambit

The Gambit action figure is actually based on the comic series. The figure comes equipped with his trademark staff and energised poker cards. If only the Gambit in the movie was something like this, it would have been perfect.
DeadPool

Deadpool could be said to be the final boss in the X-men Origins Movie. In the movie, he was the ultimate mutant killer as he was equipped with many deadly mutant powers which includes teleportation, cyclop’s optic blast and also Wolverines regenerative power. But sadly he was defeated very easily.
The action figure comes in two variants - the first as seen above is based on the comic series as it depicts him in his characteristic red - black costume and he comes with lots of weapons including katanas and a rifle.
The second variant as seen below is the movie version which depicts him unmasked and with the katanas embedded into his hands.

For those who have yet to catch the movie and intends to do so, remember to stay till the end of the credits as you get to see a alternative ending. There is actually two of them and it depends on luck which ending you will be seeing.
