New Star Wars Mighty Muggs: Wave 8 or 9?
![]()
This is really an exciting year or should I say month, for the Mighty Muggs series. Not long after the Star Wars Target Exclusives comprising of Teebo, Shock Trooper, Biggs, Bossk and Snow Trooper, has been released (picture below) ; there is now news of a upcoming wave 8 for the Star Wars Mighty Muggs series. In wave 8, you can find characters like Warrick, Qui Gon Jin, the Emperor’s Royal Guard and lastly, Wampa.

There is a little misconception between the Target Exclusives and this new wave of Star Wars Mighty Muggs. Some proposed that the Target Exclusives to belong to Wave 8 and this new wave as Wave 9. For convenience sake, I will be calling this new wave to be Wave 8 instead as I believe that ‘exclusives’ should be considered as something different due to their availability factor.
Anyway, let’s take a look at some picture of the new Star Wars wave 8 Muggs:
Wicket Warrick Mighty Muggs

When I first saw the Ewoks in the Star Wars movie, the first impression that they gave me was - “So, Cute!” I especially love the scene when C3P0 was captured by the Ewoks and they ended up worshipping him as they mistook him to be a Deity.
Judging from the headpiece that this Ewok Mighty Muggs is wearing, I likened him to be the Ewok- Wicket Warrick. Armed with a spear, this little fuzzball may seem harmless but do think twice before messing with him because he can prove to be a headache even to the Imperial forces. The actual Ewok standsat around 1m tall but for the Muggs version, I think that the height difference will not be portrayed. You may also want to check out his friend, Teebo from the Target Mighty Muggs exclusive series.
Qui Gon Jin Mighty Muggs

The wise teacher of Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Qui Gon first appeared in the Phantom Menace and sadly, he was actually killed by Darth Maul at the end of the same movie. He was also the one who pleaded with the Jedi Council to accept young Anakin Skywalker for proper Jedi training. Upon his death, he passed on his mantle to Obi Wan.
The Qui-Gon Jin Mighty Muggs is a nice piece to add to your collection as he is really a notable Jedi master.
Royal Guard Mighty Muggs

The Emperors Royal Guard has to be one of the coolest character in the Star Wars Universe. I simply love their headgear and that crimson red dress of theirs. Trained in the deadly martial art of echani, they can be called the elites among the Imperial Forces.
The Royal Guard Migthy Muggs also comes equipped with their traditional weapon - the force pike. The Royal Guards are able to wield this force spike with such deadly precision and efficiency that a lesser skilled Jedi Master may not be a match against them.
Wampa Mighty Muggs
Wampa are ice creatures found on the Hoth Planet. This creature can be seen in episode 5 of the star wars movie where he actually captured Luke Skywalker. The actual Wampa stands around two metres.
You may notice that the right arm of the Wampa Mighty Mugg is detachable. That is because in the movie, it’s right arm was actually severed by Luke Skywalker when he was trying to escape it.
The Wicket Mighty Muggs and the Royal Guard Mighty Muggs really caught my attention. Do look out for them and I will be posting more updates on this as soon as there is news of them. In the meantime, Happy Muggs hunting.
