Transformers Animated - Voyager Lugnutz
Lugnutz is available under the Transformers Animated lineup as a Voyager class figure. Lugnutz is a Decepticon in TFA and is a rather quirky character to boot. Character wise, he’s pretty similar to the Beast Wars Inferno in the sense that he’s absolutely loyal to Megatron, to the point of being a bit crazy.
Vehicle Mode
In the vehicle mode, Lugnutz takes the alternate mode of a bomber.
In this mode, the colour scheme is primarily a purple and teal colour scheme. The 2 gun turrets at the sides of the canopy can be rotated. Unfortunately, the top turret does not rotate.
As I got mine loose, some of the parts don’t really fit that well. The canopy halves do not seem to be able to stay fully closed as does the left fuel pod.
Robot Mode
In robot mode, Lugnutz transforms into a rather short and stocky figure. Colour wise, there is no major change in the colour scheme. In robot mode, Lugnutz closely resembles his animated series counterpart with a mono eye and 2 clawed hands.
For the articulation, all major joints are articulated, though the head does not feature any form of articulation.
Lugnutz comes with only 1 accessory which is a sort of mace-like weapon. The weapon stores nicely in vehicle mode as the tail fins/rear boosters. The weapon sports a transformation gimmick. The handle has to be flipped out and the weapon attached to either of the 2 hands via a peg. Once the weapon is connected, a small peg at the bottom of the handle can then be pushed to activate the transformation gimmick. What it basically does is to extend the rear fin parts and push the rear fins to a sort of pointy tipped thing for the mace. It’s pretty lame actually and it can only be activated as mentioned. No transformation when the handle is not attached to the hand.
For a voyager class figure, Lugnutz is pretty small and lacks in the gimmicks department. The only reason why I got this was that I managed to get it real dirt cheap. I don’t think he’s really worth the voyager class price tag.
