Grimlock and Wheelie WonderFest Model Kit

Saw this interesting model kit of G1 Grimlock together with Wheelie over at Big Bad Toy Store. This model kit was actually unveiled during the Wonderfest and now, it is available for purchase.

As you can see from the picture below, this kit is not your usual Transformer figure where it comes nicely assembled and painted for you.

Instead, the kit is actually made up of resin and you have to assemble and paint it yourself. It’s a little bit of a hassle but for those of you who have tried your hands on resin kits before, it should not be much of a problem for you. Moreover, you can customize the kit by changing its colour scheme. Judging from the picture, I can forsee alot of masking to be done before painting the kit.

The kit also comes with joints so that once you assemble the figure, it is fully articulated. This Wonderfest model figure stands as tall as a normal Transformer Revoltech figure which is roughly 6” tall.

Besides Grimlock and Wheelie, other Transformers characters are also available in this line of Wonderfest resin model kits. To list a few, they include Soundwave, Shockwave and Ultra Magnus.

The only drawback for this kit is the price as they are retailing at around the US$100 range. Come to think of it, most resin model kits are priced around this price or even higher.

You can check out the other model kits over at Big Bad Toy Store.

So get those paints and air-brushes ready.

Will you change the colour scheme of the Grimlock and Wheelie or stick to the G1 colour scheme?
